Embracing the hybrid paradox
There are a lot of questions around what ‘hybrid’ really means.
Most people think of it as a mix of in-office and at-home work, which is true. However, it involves a lot more than that.
As the small-business news platform Workest points out, hybrid can also include co-working spaces, occasional meetings in off-site or in-office locations, employees working at client sites, or even coffee shops. Essentially, it offers employees the flexibility to choose where and when to work, within parameters that meet the needs of the business and the entire team, as well as those of their customers.
For staff, it means they can more easily balance work with other responsibilities in their lives. For the business, it means a happier workforce that, in turn, can be more productive and creative. A win-win.
But you have to be strategic and deliberate about your approach to a hybrid model so that everyone has what they need to make it a success.
Employees have to be able to connect reliably and securely with colleagues in the office, at home or wherever they may be working, and that means information technology has a central role to play in making hybrid work successful.
This is where support from your IT team comes in, either in-house or outsourced to a Managed Services Provider, or a combination of the two. Experts with the proper skillset can guide you from the development of your strategy, through to rollout and support of the technology you’ll need to make a hybrid approach work in your unique environment.
